Our short-term and long-term skilled nursing care features additional specialty care services including:
OmniVR™ virtual rehabilitation
With OmniVR virtual rehabilitation, our rehab professionals use computer software to track patient movements during therapy sessions. Programs engage patients in their rehabilitation therapy with activities to help improve balance, mobility, strength and coordination.
We are very proud of our wound care outcomes. Part of our success results from having a certified wound care nurse on staff who specializes in wound care and assists in assessing, treating and managing surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and related wound and skin conditions.
A proven treatment for dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), VitalStim uses small electrical currents to stimulate throat muscles. Our rehab therapists have achieved lasting results for many residents using VitalStim to help them retrain their muscles to improve swallowing.
Restorative nursing care is that “little extra help” for those who don’t necessarily need rehab, but still need additional assistance to continue improving or to maintain their current level of independence. From exercises to increase or maintain strength and mobility to assistance with dining, patients receive the encouragement, cues, and support they need.
We also arrange for specialized care, as needed, with a variety of medical professionals available to provide care on-site at Williamstown Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center:
